Fun Pictures of my girl!

Here are some fun shots I took of Sadie with her new hats from an Etsy shop. I love her hats! www.zjohnson.etsy.com

She posted Sadie's pictures in her shop... awww so sweet!

Making herself at home...

Sadie has been busy making herself at home here. She definitely likes to call the shots around here. She unfortunately got a cold and has been having breathing treatments for a week. I think she is finally feeling better. Welcome home... now you are sick! AHHH! I hope we are on the mend. Her feeding has been going great. She is now up to 9 pounds. Which is hilarious since Dylan was nine pounds at like 2 weeks and here she is almost 8 weeks. She is growing and changing though so we are happy with her progress. My Mom is still here so that has been fun. She is helping a lot around here and also with watchign Dylan so I can take Sadie to her appointments. WE will start her feeding therapy either on Friday or next Tuesday. Sounds silly huh, but I think its to make sure she is getting enough food and latching the best she can with her cleft palate. Her monitor has been giving us a run for our money. It went off three times last night due to bad connections. Sadie slept right through it! It's a Godsend though because I don't worry about her dying anymore:-) Overall we are doing great. Of course I have pictures to share... stuck at home with two kids... what else is there to do? Haha!

We are having fun at home! Here are a few pics of Sadie in her tutu that Grandma Cozart gave her. Auntie Chris and Grandma came to visit! Dylan and Sadie had their bonding time watching Wubbzy together. He is already getting her hooked!

Family Shots!

Since my sister was in town I asked her to grab a couple photos of us as a family of four. It was sooo hot outside! Dylan did ok with the photos for about five minutes. But at least we have some shots at all! I love her little tutu and want to take pics of her alone in it soon.

Finally Home!

We are so excited to finally be a family of four in our home! Sadie came home on Wednesday, August 11th in the late afternoon. It was her 40 day of life. Since she has been home she has been doing so wonderful! She is sleeping great and even eating great! Dylan is figuring her out, but over all is pleasantly interested in her. He is still being terrible two and we call him Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. He is doing great though. My sister came to town for the weekend and tomorrow has to head back to WA and my Mom comes into town for two weeks. My sister and I went looking for wedding dresses yesterday and very possibly for "THE ONE". She is so excited and its fun to be able to share this time with her. I wish she could stay longer.

Sadie went to the Pediatricians office and got a clean bill of health. She weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and we will go back for a weight check next Friday. I have been working on contacting and scheduling feeding therapy, follow up appts and seeing what is available for assitance for Sadie. I figure since she has this oondition we might as well get her as many services as are available to her. It feels so great to be home with both of children and to dress, feed, bathe, and play with Sadie at home. She is LOVING it! She has been so content... except for the rice ceral... its backing her up! Poor girl! I hope you enjoyed the photos! I think she is soooo pretty! i can't stop staring at her!

Feeding Breakthrough!!

Sadie has finally had a feeding breakthrough and is doing excellent on her feeds. She is supposed to eat 70cc each feeding and today has taken over 60 every feeding! They took off her feeding tube for a trial period to see how she does without it. She took her first full feeding tonight at her 6:00pm feeding and sucked down a wopping 72! Woohoo! She is easily eating the food without struggle too. We are so excited! It is so nice to see her pretty face without tape and tubes. This week will determine if she goes home just on the bottle or if she needs an ng tube. She is such a fighter! Here are some pictures of her tonight without the feeding tube and a picture of her new room. She was 8.6 last night so she is getting to be a big girl! She is really awake and alert too and loves to look around, look at faces and also look at books, pictures etc. The teacher in me is already reading books to her! I hope to continue with good news!

Settling into Phoenix Children's Hospital

These are a few pictures from our last day at Arrowhead Hospital. Lynn was one of our primary nurses for Sadie. She is so loving and caring. She made me feel so comforted and took such great care of Sadie! Lisa is another nurse who made such a big difference for us in our time at Arrowhead. She is the nurse who caught Sadie's feeding tube being in incorrectly. She was so strong for me that and we are forever greatful! Sadie is exactly one month old in these pictures.

We made the move on Monday and immediately met a Cranialfacial Surgeon. She was very interested in Sadie's case and wants to get things going for her. She is concerned with her airway and is considering a procedure called "tongue-lip adhesion." I know it sounds crazy, but it would help keep Sadie's tongue out of her airway until her jaw is able to grow. We have also met with the speech therapist. She fed Sadie her bottle and was surprised at how much of a "quality" feed she has. She doesn't choke too much and does well managing her breathing. The ENT surprisingly wasn't too concerned with her either. After all the doctors talk then we will make a decision as to what route we take with Sadie. The negetive thing with the tongue-lip adhesion is that she would have to be sedated and intubated for week... .sigh...

Well I'll keep you updated as we learn things this week. I hope that by the end of the week we have some answers. I was able to give Sadie a bath today and she was moved into more of a crib bed so that is nice. We do have a private room and that is amazing! The drive is in rush hour so it takes close to an hour to get there, but its working out ok. I sure hope we can talk to more drs tomorrow!

Moving Day!

Tomorrow is our big moving day to Phoenix Children's Hospital. I'm anxious and nervous for these changes, but hopeful they will bring us a step closer to getting Sadie the care she needs for now so she can come home and also begin relationships with some of the specialists that we will work with for the next couple years. I have had a great experience with the nursing staff at Arrowhead and will definitely miss them and the "comfortable" feeling I have there. I pray that all goes well tomorrow and we have speedy transitions and can come up with a plan quickly. I also pray that I can hold myself together during all these changes.

Here are a few photos that we have taken in the past couple days of our family. Sadie will be one month old tomorrow! She is so alert now and just a little doll. We love her so much!
